Mu Chapter in the News
Mu Chapter supports our national affiliate, National Council for Negro Women (NCNW) Philadelphia section and award recipient/chapter soror, Mae Johns (seated, center.)
Standing: Tracy Ellis, Pamela Humphrey, Katrina Harris, Tamarra Causley Robinson, Rhonda Young
Seated: Sarah Bass-Young, Mae Johns, Dorothy Humphrey
“Sowing Seeds for a Secure Future” a motto that advances the legacy of Founder Mrs. Mary McLeod Bethune, was this year’s theme for Philadelphia’s Section of the Nation Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW). Sorors from Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Mu Chapter were present as the NCNW recognized and honored several women and youth for their individual accomplishments. We were proud to support and witness our very own Soror Mae Johns, a long-standing active member of NCNW and Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. as she accepted the IntraCouncil Award. Soror Johns was recognized for her gracious and diligent commitment to inspire others to achieve and implement the mission of the NCNW.
Congratulations again to NCNW as they celebrated 69 years of actively and positively changing the landscape of Philadelphia!
